All EdgeWater boats twenty feet and under are constructed with our original break-thru Perma-Grid structural system. Perma-Grid utilizes pre-formed high-density foam structures that are fitted to the hull creating a box-beam structural system that acts like the steel-girders of a building. Made entirely of composite materials and foam ensuring strength and additional buoyancy for un-sinkability, this structure is then encapsulated in fiberglass and resin to create a solid foundation for a strong, durable, and comfortable riding boat that is the hallmark of an EdgeWater.
Our proprietary deep-V variable deadrise (angled) hulls combine a knife-like entry with large reverse chines (flat inward angled surfaces), along with a generous beam (width) and precisely engineered running surface, the result is a soft, dry, and comfortable ride in the most challenging seas. Closed-cell foam is employed in open spaces in the hull to displace air for maximum buoyancy and flotation ensuring each EdgeWater boat is completely unsinkable.

In 1992, a “little company on a bumpy road” in Edgewater, Florida set out to build a luxury saltwater fishing boat. In order to be successful in a highly competitive marketplace, we knew we needed to go against the grain of conventional thinking. We knew, as our customers knew, that when it comes to an offshore vessel, what you don’t see: safety, durability, reliability, ride, comfort, and a lifetime of satisfaction are, in fact, the most important factors affecting a potential boat owners decision. For the past twenty-five years we’ve developed some of the marine industry’s most advanced structural designs on the water. No EdgeWater competitor can boast such a consistent development of modern processes and use of composite materials.
Single Piece Infusion is a closed molded vacuum resin infusion process (vacuum is created under sealed plastic bag) that combines foam composite structural stringers (I-beams of a building), engineered knitted fiberglass fabrics (stitched material not woven), and vinylester resins to make our hulls (from 22’ to 37’) strong and a perfect glass-to-resin ratio every time. The process begins by adding dry knitted fiberglass and structural stringers to the inside of a hull mold. A bag is placed and sealed over the mold. Then a vacuum of one negative atmosphere is created underneath. The vinylester resin is then infused (pushed) thru tubes into the grid structure, laminate, and hull mold in one step. No excess resin, which results in unneeded weight, stays in the boat. When the resin hardens and the bag is pulled from the mold it creates a one-piece unsinkable structure, with weight uniformly distributed, more fiberglass per square foot, making an SPI boat three times stronger than one constructed using a conventional open-molded process. While the strength-to-weight ratio is greater than open-molded, polyester boats, this process also achieves a perfectly weighted hull each and every time.

To start with the basics, all EdgeWater models are made of 100% composite materials. No wood coring. No wood stringers. No wood transoms. Our conventional hulls from 15’ to 20’ are built of hand laid fiberglass and reinforced with composite coring where necessary. Transoms are constructed from high-density composites, reinforced for added strength and longevity with laminated engineered fiberglass (knitted, not woven).
Deck hardware and thru-hulls are the highest grade 316L stainless steel. Lexan windshields are extra-thick 3/8”. Critical wiring harnesses feature Deutsch industrial connectors and heavy-gauge, tin-plated copper wiring are labeled every six inches for easy troubleshooting. All pumps, LED lights, gauges and switches are absolutely the best available in the marine industry. Turn-key reliability doesn’t stop with the boat. All EdgeWater Power Boats are exclusively factory rigged with Yamaha Four Stroke Outboards, the industry’s leader in customer satisfaction and dependability. EdgeWater and Yamaha Four Strokes come together to deliver outstanding fuel-efficiency and performance, a combination that creates the most reliable luxury fishing boat on the water.

From the smallest to the largest, each EdgeWater is completely self-bailing, unsinkable, reliable, dry, and exceeds all industry standards. Below the deck, the hull is filled with 100% composite closed-cell foam for maximum buoyancy. Every hull bottom is designed to run soft and dry in the most demanding conditions. Decks are fastened to the hull using three separate methods making it virtually impossible to take apart. Cockpits are larger, deeper, and feature a wide variety of storage areas. Consoles are ergonomically created for maximum comfort, visibility, and ease. Ultimately what separates EdgeWater from Grady-White, Pursuit, Everglades, and Boston Whaler is our exclusive structural systems- Single Piece Infusion or SPI®. Weight is critical for superior hull performance and fuel economy, SPI creates an incredibly strong, one-piece, unsinkable structure that can endure the most extreme stresses and adventures.
